Predictions Line Up Borussia Dortmund vs Chelsea Round Of 16 Eufa Champions League 2022/2023

 

Borussia Dortmund face Chelsea in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 clash at the Signal Iduna Park tomorrow night. 

This will be the first ever competitive meeting between the two sides, having never come up against each other in Europe until this week. 

Chelsea come into this game off the back of a poor run of results in the Premier League. The Blues have won just twice in their last ten league games and have not won away from home since October, when they beat Salzburg in the Champions League. 

BVB are in a completely different situation, having won all their games since returning from the World Cup break, including a DFB Pokal win against VfL Bochum.

Team News 

Chelsea

Blues boss Graham Potter still has several injury problems in his side, yet a few players returned at the weekend against West Ham United.

Reece James played the full 90 minutes against the Hammers having been out with injury for a lengthy period, whilst Ben Chillwell also came on as a substitute as he looks to build his fitness back up. 

However, Armando Broja, Christian Pulisic, Denis Zakaria,, Edouard Mendy, N'Golo Kante, Raheem Sterling and Wesley Fofana all remain out for the Blues in what is still a hefty injury list.

Borussia Dortmund

It could be a fairly unchanged side for Terzic against Chelsea, with no new injury concerns. 

Mateu Morey, Thomas Meunier and Marius Wolf are all still out, meaning Julian Ryerson will continue at right-back for BVB.

Yousouffa Moukoko is also out for Dortmund after going off injured last time out against Werder Bremen, meaning Sebastien Haller could come back into the starting eleven tomorrow night.
